During the use of expansion joints by users, some problems occasionally occur, most of which are caused by improper operation or defects of the product itself. The editor analyzes several common problems in detail as follows.
· During machine operation, when the pressure exceeds the maximum pressure of the pipeline expander, the gas released by the machine increases, and the pipeline expander is prone to cracking.
· When the pipeline is installed, the laying is unbalanced. Under high power, long-term vibration will cause deformation and displacement of the pipe expander to varying degrees.
· Excessive tension from the connection between the pipeline and equipment severely elongates the corrugation of the expansion device.
· If welds are not detected and leak at the time of delivery, air leakage (accompanied by audible noise) will occur during pipeline operation, which is easy to locate.
· If the pipeline expansion joint has only slight gas leakage: Remove the pipeline expander, repair the weld with a TIG welding machine, and reinstall it on the pipeline after confirming the leaking weld.
· If the displacement of the corrugated part of the pipeline expansion joint changes with the expander’s angle and exceeds 30 degrees: Replace it with a new pipe expander.
· If pipeline elongation exceeds the expansion range of the pipeline expander: Measure the required compensation based on the used pipeline, and customize new cast iron pipe expanders according to the actual quantity.
